Job Summary:
Coordinate and manage the schedules of truck drivers to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries.
Maintain contact with truck drivers throughout their routes to monitor their progress.
Troubleshoot any problems that may arise along the way.
Relay information to customers to keep them informed of delivery dates and time estimates.
Responsibilities:
Scheduling drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments.
Communicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.
Planning pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed.
Maintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pickup times.
Reviewing drivers’ logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times.
Perform other duties as required.
