Assist lead Locating Technician with using electro-magnetic induction (EMI), and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) technologies to locate underground utilities. Leaving office location in west Asheville and working within a 100-mile radius in surrounding western North Carolina.
Prefer someone with previous experience using hand tools, and knowing the names of common hand tools.
Work will involve:
-walking several miles/day.
-lifting up to 50lbs several times/day.
-working around high-traffic areas.
-interacting with city officials, engineering companies, and the public.
-carrying bag of hand tools.
-maintaining safety of electronic equipment.
-working independently when necessary.
-reading maps, and ability to use Google Earth.
-having basic understanding of electrical theory.
-having basic understanding of underground infrastructure.
Will be working as subcontractor for first 3-months, and full time employment may be negotiated after that probationary period is over.
Expect to work 20-40 hours per week.
