Western NC Housing Partnership- WNCHP (wnchousing.org) is a nonprofit that builds affordable housing for seniors, workforce families throughout Western NC. The organization was founded in 1994. Our work is meaningful work that impacts people and their lives for years to come. It is very rewarding work.

P/T Executive Assistant/Bookkeeper (10-20 hours per month) at $20-$25 per hour commiserate with experience. This is not a direct employee position, rather a contractor (1099) that will be paid on a monthly basis. This is a remote working position. Must reside in Western NC in one of the following counties: Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson or Rutherford.

Ideal candidate seeks part-time work:

Ability to assimilate in a small team environment and support Executive Director and Development Associate

Positive disposition and proven ability to make sound business decisions with a high level of integrity

Extremely detail oriented

Must have excellent references and ability to pass a background and drug test

Ability to work independently in a sometimes ambiguous environment with shifting demands

It is a requirement that the right candidate is comfortable with email, Word, Excel, Power Point, PDF and basic understanding of QuickBooks - only candidates with this experience will be considered

Must reconcile bank statements via QuickBooks, payables, receivables monthly; forward 5 invoices on a quarterly basis

Properly code payables and receivables by following the annual budget account codes; batch and save invoices; pull bank statements monthly and forward G/L to executive director for review

Willingness to make monthly check deposits (mileage will be paid)

Check mail at P.O. Box on a weekly basis and scan mail to Executive Director (Pack and Ship P.O. Box can be called in advance to see if there is any mail once per week)

Order office supplies as needed

Ensure tax documents for WNCHP and for portfolio of assets are properly filed including Secretary of state filings

Create minutes for each board meeting, held quarterly; two meetings are via Zoom and two are in-person and may require up to 2-3 hours of driving depending on location

Set-up catering for board lunches

Poll board for attendance at upcoming meetings

Ability to act independently and readily grasp complicated documents that include but are not limited to: operatings agreements, finance documents, audits, legal et al

Ability to research and locate needed documents

Assist in planning major events such as grand openings and groundbreaking ceremonies

MINIMUM 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN AN ADMINISTRATIVE ROLE

Nonprofit administrative experience a plus!
