Creative Native Gardens is Hiring!

We are a small and growing landscape company seeking two hardworking, cheerful, and awesome individuals to join the crew. This is a fresh start for the business, since the last two crew members parted ways recently. Our focus is on designing landscapes with native plants and natural feels, primarily involving landscape installation with some garden maintenance. We also have a small nursery.

This work is challenging but rewarding, providing variety, good exercise and an enjoyable work environment.

Work Schedule:

Hours: Part-time to full-time

Seasonal Work: We operate year-round, but January and February can be slow. Historically, some work is available during these months, but there are no guarantees. You will not be expected to be available to work then, so consider those months off.

Days: Tuesday to Friday

Start Time: 9 AM

Commitment: At least three days a week, with flexibility to discuss more or less.

Job Locations: A lot in North Asheville, but we go all over the greater Asheville area and beyond for the right client. Most days we will meet in North Asheville in the AM

Responsibilities:

Assist with various landscaping projects including planting, mulching, pruning, weeding, stonework, and general garden maintenance.

Follow instructions and collaborate with the team.

Maintain a positive attitude, even during physically demanding tasks.

Display a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.

Operate and maintain landscape tools and equipment (e.g., string trimmers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws).

Requirements:

Previous landscaping or outdoor work experience preferred but not required. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are highly valued.

Reliable transportation and driver’s license required for commuting to job sites; may need to drive a company truck.

Knowledge or interest in plants, horticulture, and best practices.

Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Ability or willingness to learn to drive a small truck with a trailer.

Reliability and flexibility

Cheerful disposition and sense of humor, or at least willing to laugh at my jokes

Communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to take direction and complete tasks efficiently and work independently

What We Offer:

Hourly wage based on experience ($22-$27/hr.)

Supportive, friendly, and relaxed work environment

Some flexibility in your work schedule if communicated in advance

Opportunities to gain valuable experience, knowledge and develop skills in the landscaping industry

Potential for free salvaged/leftover plants and materials

Opportunities for growth and increased compensation based on performance

How to Apply:

Send a resume and/or an email with relevant work or life experience. Tell me a little about yourself, including your age, hometown, education level, and favorite plant. We may invite you for an interview or a paid trial workday if you seem like a good fit. Thanks for your time, please know it may take over a week for me to respond to your email.

Look forward to hearing from you!
