Landscape Management Crew Leader

Job Summary:

The Crew Leader is an experienced landscaper working with minimal supervision. The position works as a member of the team and directs the activities of two or more team members at a job site. The Crew Leader is able to operate a variety of equipment and has a working knowledge of horticultural practices.

Operates a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to mowers, back hoes, bobcats, dingos, tillers, sod cutters, weed eaters, plant augers, chain saws, and drills.

Operates automatic and stick shift vehicles, such as dump trucks and truck and trailer combinations.

Operates a cell phone and necessary applications required by customer.

Completes the necessary paperwork including timesheets, work orders, change orders, material requisitions, and client tickets.

Works to ensuring the job is completed in the most time-efficient manner.

Manages a crew of two or more members and trains employees on policies and procedures.

Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.

Briefs supervisors and makes recommendations on job status, personnel issues, or client concerns.

Works as a member of the team.

Applies chemicals under the direction of licensed applicator.

Helps with snow removal during the winter months.

Maintains assigned equipment and notifies mechanic of needed repairs.

Responds politely to client inquiries and projects a professional image.

Performs routine lawn maintenance including grass cutting, lawn edging, weed pulling, and other routine lawn-maintenance activities. Uses lawn mower and related equipment.

Provides seasonal lawn care, such as spring and fall leaf clean-up.

Moves materials and equipment and performs related duties to assist in landscaping and hardscaping.

Hauls or spreads topsoil, gravel, sand, mulch, or related materials using wheelbarrows and rakes.

Hand-finishes grade, and apply seed, straw, or sod.

Work Environment/Requirements:

Valid Driver's License

Work four (4) 10 hour days (Fridays are a mandatory flex day when weather dictates)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 80 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee are regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (hot and cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
