Job Description
Position Title: Line Cook
Will Directly Report To: Executive Chef / Chef de Cuisine / Sous Chef
Duties and Responsibilities
Line Cooks are expected to:
➢ Be on time for all scheduled shifts
➢ Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
➢ Perform all opening duties to ensure the restaurant is ready to open on time
➢ Follow our recipes and cooking procedures to the specifications set forth by the Chef. Our food must taste and look the same every day, regardless of who is cooking.
➢ Inform a manager if at any time a product is of lower quality than our standards.
➢ Demonstrate all safety and sanitation procedures according to guidelines
➢ Keep the floors in the kitchen area clean, free of debris and dry.
➢ Rotate the product correctly, so that the oldest product is used first, to minimize waste. Food cost and waste is a team effort.
➢ Always properly wrap and store food, make sure to label, date and rotate product.
➢ Assist in the deep cleaning of the kitchen area, equipment, coolers and freezer.
➢ Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, such as a case of potatoes.
➢ Be able to stand for long durations of time
➢ Be able to climb stairs
➢ Restock kitchen line with plates, bowls, etc.
➢ Restock line for the following shift
➢ Assist in the storage of all deliveries
➢ Ability to check in orders / deliveries when requested
➢ Assist in the set-up or physical counting of monthly inventory
➢ Report all accidents and injuries to a manager
➢ Inform manager of any missing or damaged equipment
➢ Maintain a clean work station and area during entire shift
➢ Be a team player and help out whenever possible
➢ Inform a manager when leaving the station for any reason
➢ Close line in accordance to guidelines of kitchen management
➢ All kitchen personnel are to be checked out by a manager before leaving at end of shift
➢ Complete any additional duties assigned by management
