Cook at Golden Pineapple $30 an hour

The Golden Pineapple, a neighborhood cocktail bar and restaurant, is looking to add to our BOH cook staff. We are a lively cocktail bar in West Asheville offering an extensive cocktail program and a full food menu. We are open 6 days a week and closed every Wednesday. We are looking for someone who has an excitement for local produce & ingredients and how to use them while encouraging menu input. duties of BOH cook include prep, cooking on the line, help with running food, able to understand written recipes, dish, daily organizing, communication. All our staff start at the same hourly and an equal share of a tip pool. As a cook at Golden Pineapple you will make bartender moneythere is no difference between the front and back of house when it comes to how hard you have to work while getting paid fairly for it. Staff for the last three pay checks have made $30/hour and pay has never gone below $28/hour in the dead season and are living wage certified. You will have a set schedule with three days off every week, two of those days off are in a row and one of them will be a weekend day. Never scheduled over 40 hours as we believe in a life-work balance. We have paid vacation and paid sick days. Shift meal and drink every shift you work. Nights are required.
