Companion needed for my adult brother with Autism. He is physically fit and likes to spend time outdoors and at the Y. He cannot drive or cook for himself, but has a daily routine that he adheres to that helps him maintain as many independence skills he can manage.
I would love for someone with a background in special Ed or elementary Ed to help him work on his routine skills, but all types of work backgrounds will be considered.
You do need to be kind, patient, and punctual, and have reliable transportation.
This is a great job for someone active with a chill personality. He does not want to sit around all day and he does not watch TV.
Shifts are 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM and 3:30PM to 8:30 PM and ideally, you could do 3 shifts per week. If you enjoy it, you can do more.
There is an opportunity to do overnight shifts with are 8:30 PM to 8:30 AM. He is typically asleep by 9:30 or 10 (at the latest) so you can sleep, do homework, watch TVovernight rate is less per hour because he is asleep.
Thank you!
Dee
