A young adult on the autism spectrum is seeking a reliable, intelligent and friendly adventure partner for indoor and active outdoor pursuits.
You will share interests with the employer and enjoy intellectual conversation. You may also assist with light household tasks such as cleaning up from meals and snacks and grocery shopping. No personal or medical care tasks are necessary for this position.
We offer:
- Competitive pay.
- Total of 16-18 hours/week.
- Regular daytime schedule two days per week.
- Use of the employer’s vehicle for trips together during work time.
Basic requirements include:
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- A current driver's license and a good driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site in East Asheville (not convenient to bus line).
- Ability to engage in active pursuits.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Empathic, engaged conversationalist.
- Likes hiking, backpacking, climbing, swimming and/or yoga.
- Interest in history, science, computers and/or spirituality.
- Experience with neurodiversity.
Due to dogs in the employer’s home, this is not a bring-your-dog-to-work position. This job is most appropriate for those who are already residing in Western North Carolina rather than folks interested in relocating to the area.
