Resident Assistant ECOLODGE manager

POSITION:

This position is for an Assistant Resident Manager at an ecolodge project in the Pisgah National Forest near the border/entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Appalachian Trail. The position is responsible for enacting the plans of, and assisting the Resident Manager in the beginning/opening stages of the homestead/lodge – from planning, site preparation, building and construction all the way through to welcoming our first guests while filming/documenting the process, and documenting it on social media/Youtube/Rumble.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties will include overseeing and participating in everything from planning to felling of trees and clearing areas for cabins and gardens, to implementing the construction and landscaping thereof, sawing lumber for building projects, driving supplies to and from the lodge, and managing typical business affairs through to welcoming guests and insuring proper accomodation and stays along with filming and posting parts of the process in a series of how-to and before-after videos. Basically a hands-on, involved-in-everything type position.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION SOUGHT:

The ideal candidate needs NO EXPERIENCE IN ANY RELATED FIELDS IN PARTICULAR What they need is a strong curiousity and desire to learn about, participate in, and be a part of such a project along with a demonstrable proficiency in handling new and challenging tasks in prior work, school and overall life situations.

Past life, work, and academic, experiences/achievements will be strongly considered, but much greater weight will be given to the interview process, a demonstrable ability to problem-solve and think through solutions, a desire to learn and proactive attitude about and taking to challanging and new tasks, and a genuine inquisitiveness and desire to learn about the entire process that is being undertaken.

The process may include standardized skills, problem-solving, critical-thinking and personality tests in the process that will assist in our choosing the ideal fit from our candidates.

This will be an opportunity for the ideal candidate to earn a living and save cash while learning a plethora of skills and knowledge that can only be beneficial in one's future - from forestry, to construction, to farming, to business management - while offering endless recreational opportunities to boot - from hiking and hunting just outside your door, to biking, nearby equestrian trails, and even whitewater rafting at the base of the mountain!

SCHEDULE/EXPECTATIONS:

As the position is residential (housing is provided to live on-site) the expected schedule consists of 4 days on, 2 days off, flex. (Use of a company vehicle is provided for use during days/nights off/away)

COMPENSATION:

The selected candidate will receive room and board consisting of a private upstairs bedroom in the main cabin building. Basic staple foods and anything eventually grown on site can be eaten at will, along with an additional $200/mo food per-diem, use of a company vehicle and a salary commensurate with skills and experience, (starting between $30,000 and $45,000 - while eliminating ALL of your living expenses but recreational/discretionary spending An EXCELLENT oportunity to save beaucoup money!)

After completion of 6 months probationary period:

50% matching payments for Marketplace insurance benefits, paid time off accumulated at 1.25% of hours worked, up to 5 paid days per year accumulated, and after one year of Full Employment, we offer matching contributions of up to 2.5% of paid salary annually for retirement funds/401k, and A PERCENTAGE OF PROFITS of the business! (Up to 5% per year, up to 25% total over time.)
