This is an excellent opportunity to join our team…We are a multi-line distributor of the finest ophthalmic instrumentation in the industry!Job SummaryReceives all incoming inventory and customer repairs and allocates inventory to warehouse locations, customer orders, or service area. Responsible for packaging, staging and the shipping of all outbound inventory and customer repairs. Also responsible for cycle counting and pre-installation assembly of ophthalmic equipment. This position works closely with the Operations Manager to effectively manage all warehouse operations.Position Responsibilities:
Uses Instapak foam machine to develop custom packaging for shipments. Continually find ways to improve packaging process and create proactive solutions to packaging needs.
Work with Operations Manager and the Service Department to record shipping metrics to analyze DOA Rate; track returned shipments, identify weaknesses and problems with our final inspection and packaging process and put corrective actions in place as needed.
Communicates and tracks inventory/repair activities using Slack, Airtable and Zendesk.
Responsible for the receiving of incoming freight and dispatching of outgoing freight and small parcel shipments.
Responsible for first impression of products and provide final cosmetic inspection while ensuring all accessories are included with service and sales orders.
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience/Qualifications
High School diploma, GED or equivalent, plus 2 years of shipping/inventorymanagement experience.
Mechanical ability required.
PC Skills, experience with Airtable and Zendesk a plus
Experience using warehouse equipment, such as scissor lifts, handcarts and foam machines
Previous background should include shipping, inventory control and technical knowledge
Must be organized and detail-oriented; strong verbal and written communication skills required
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision.
