Description:Location: Apex NC Schedule: First Shift hybrid with Monday thru Thursday office/field time Friday is WFH/field time. Heavy travel up to 90 may need to travel across the state and may possibly have overnight travel. Approved Expenses: Mileage phone standard charges Top Skills: Fiber Repair Construction Relocations and Small Cell Job Title: Network Construction Manager The position plays a prominent role within the Break-Fix team. The primary responsibility of a Construction Manager revolves around the planning and tracking of potential Crown Castle fiber plant conflicts. Also to include overseeing emergency repairs of Crown Castle fiber optic plant. Ensure all assigned projects are completed according to mutually agreed upon timeline and budget of customer and Crown Castle. Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with Crown Castle policies and procedures in support of Crown Castle objectives. Responsibilities Attend Project Planning Meetings with Cities Counties and DOT. Determine scope budget and scheduling for construction and splicing of projects. Make regular trips to sites during construction including: bid walk precon walk in progress site visits punch walks and construction closeout. Provide direction to general contractors when doing groundwork. Understand prevailing rates for all construction work and ensure Crown Castle is receiving competitive rates for quality work. Responsible to negotiate costs within scope of project hold Vendor accountable to ensure budget is maintained ensure District and/or Program and Project Managers and customers are aware of issues that will impact project completion or cost. Responsible to problem solve issues that may occur onsite and make recommendations based on priority and need to ensure the project and budget are maintained. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Crown Castle construction standards processes and procedures. Ensure accurate and complete files are maintained for projects and appropriate closeout documents are distributed in a timely manner and are in accordance with corporate and customer standards. Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system with complete accuracy. Act as Crown Castle safety observer and Quality Assurance representative while at the site ensuring compliance with Crown Castle safety program and related workmanship practices. Work with fiber optic related test equipment including Network Tester OTDR Optical Power Meter Optical Fiber Identifier and Multimeter. Operate and understand RF and Small Cell related test equipment such as Antenna/PIM analyzer RF power meter Spectrum analyzer and aSignal generator. Operate PC or similar devices to gain access to Network nodes and Small Cell Network elements as well as assigned administrative tasks. Education/Certifications High School degree or equivalent A valid drivers license required Experience/Minimum Requirements Minimum three 3 years of telecommunications Fiber Optic construction experience Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques aerial underground. Familiarity with test equipment: OTDR Power Meter and Locate Equipment is a Plus Working knowledge of NESC NEC and OSHA standards. Experience in Relocation and Emergency Repair of Fiber Optic Cables and Small Cell Nodes. Experience in Small Cell Node Construction. Other Skills/Abilities Strong OSP construction knowledge with ability to read/red-line construction drawings to facilitate new builds relocations and emergency repairs. Bucket Truck experience Strong understanding of telecommunications outside plant construction and managing network related construction projects with successful results scope schedule and budget. Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities. Ability to prioritize with good time management skills. Customer service orientation with a strong problem solving approach - strong interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office Excel Visio Word and PowerPoint Adobe Editor Google Earth and AutoCAD is a plus. Working Conditions:This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday. On Fridays teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home. There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel. Will be required to travel to project sites with exposure to heavy equipment and environmental conditions up to 90 of the time.
