Accounting Clerk

Description Robert Half is working on a contract Accounting Clerk position in the White Plains, NY area. This role is a long-term contract position, providing the opportunity for an individual to contribute to our team in a significant way. Responsibilities: Accurately process invoices to maintain up-to-date accounts Manage and reconcile account statements to ensure financial accuracy Handle data entry tasks related to account management and financial reporting Utilize Excel for various accounting tasks and financial record-keeping Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action when needed Ensure the efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable Maintain comprehensive and accurate customer credit records.Requirements Proven experience in the retail industry as an Accounting Clerk or a similar role Proficiency in account reconciliation with demonstrated ability to accurately maintain financial records Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and its implementation in a retail environment Excellent data entry skills, with the ability to input and manage financial data accurately Experience in invoice processing, ensuring timely and correct payments to suppliers Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot numerical errors Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices Proficiency in Office software, particularly in spreadsheet software, and familiarity with relevant accounting software Excellent mathematical skills, with the ability to perform calculations with speed and accuracy Good organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with colleagues and suppliers High level of integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially Relevant certification in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
