See below one of many career opportunities to join to RPO team!Job Summary:The Quality Inspector, Optics position will entail first-piece, FAI, RMA, receiving, in-process and final inspection of products/processes made/performed by outside vendors as well as RPO. This position has emphasis on inspection and review of precision optical and opto-electronic products, components and processes. The inspector may work in a cleanroom environment and low-light areas. There will be long periods of standing while measuring parts and collecting, logging and reporting data.Essential Job Duties:

Perform First Piece, FAI, RMA, Receiving, In-Process and Final Inspection of optical and opto-electronic assembly components, products and processes.

Prioritize workflow and ensure best practices are used in area including shift to shift communication of work completed and in process.

Visual inspection of optical products and components to specified drawings, specifications, plans and standards.

Interferometric / Profilometric inspection of optical products to specified drawings, specifications and standards.

Mechanical inspection of optical/mechanical products and components to specified drawings, specifications and standards.

Run preprogramed parts on the CMM and Smartscope and other programmed devices.

Data collection, logging, reporting.

Communication of any out of tolerance or marginal conditions to appropriate personnel.

Review of material and other certifications and test reports to ensure completeness, correctness and verification to purchasing, drawing and other requirements.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be able to read and understand basic hand inspection tools.

Able to use Microsoft Excel.

Basic computer skills.

Blueprint Reading, GD&T Preferred.

Optical component/assembly inspection experience.

Ability to measure optics with interferometer and profilometer preferred.

Familiarity with ISO 10110, MIL-PRF-13830 and other similar standards preferred

Ability to work with a great deal of independence.

Good team player.

Abilities Required:

Good manual dexterity

Ability to follow directions

Good communication skills

Blueprint Reading

Good Multi-tasking skills

Basic Computer skills

Requires initiative and mental concentration to learn new skills and techniques.

Exercises independent judgment when inspecting parts acceptability for further operations

Requirements and Competencies: Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to communicate effectively to team members and management.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.

Educational Requirements:

High School diploma. AAS or AS preferred

Minimum of 2 years in a quality position or related field

Work Requirements:Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand: use hands to fingers, handle or feel: and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch: and talk and hear.

The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and see colors. May involve prolonged periods of magnified inspection (eye strain)

Highly repetitive work, usually in a fixed body position for a sustained period of time.

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.

The employee is frequently required to use the computer.

Work Environment:

May involve the use of oils and solvents.

Subject to some soilage and irritation from cleaning solutions. (Lab Coats provided)

Generally works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.

Safety Glasses are required

May require area specific safety training

This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne paper particles.

May be exposed to conditions prevalent in a manufacturing environment such as heat and humidity.

May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the production process.

Travel:

This position may require a minimum amount of travel (Domestic & International) with the understanding that travel is absolutely required when market urgencies and opportunities arise.

Schedule flexibility is required.
