Diesel Truck Fleet Mechanics Needed ASAP on Long Island (Several locations including Westbury, Hicksville, Bethpage and in Suffolk)We are seeking a few skilled Diesel Truck Fleet Mechanics to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our diesel truck fleet.Job Details and Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections and perform routine maintenance (PMs) and repairs on diesel trucks.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in trucks and heavy equipment. Service and maintain all types of engines
Repair and replace brakes, steering, engines, and electrical systems. Fix brakes, hydraulic, and ignition systems
Use diagnostic equipment and tools to test and repair vehicles.
Maintain detailed records of services and repairs.
Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental regulations.
Maintain equipment used in operations
Requirements:
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
Diesel experience needed - ALL LEVELS 2+ years and up - Welcome to apply
Own your own tools. Have reliable transportation to get to and from the shop(s)
Work independently with minimal supervision
Skilled with tools and diagnostic equipment
Welding knowledge/experience is a huge plus (and would get extra $) but not required
At times, be willing to work in non-climate-controlled environments (i.e., snow plow repairs at the airport)
Ability to obtain airport security clearance
SALARY: $25 - $45+/hourBENEFITS/PTO
Additional pay available for ASE certifications, along with annual reviews and merit increases.
