Location: Vestal, NY Category: Professional & Support Staff Posted On: Mon Mar 10 2025 Job Description: The Fetse Lab at Binghamton University is seeking a highly motivated lab technician to support research in peptide therapeutics. This role will involve working on projects related to the discovery of novel therapeutic peptides and the development of targeted drug delivery systems. The position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nanomedicine, immunotherapy, and peptide-based drug delivery.Key Responsibilities:
Optimize and characterize lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations for RNA encapsulation
Conduct in vitro and ex vivo studies to evaluate drug delivery efficiency
Perform ELISA, flow cytometry, and cell-based assays to analyze immune responses
Carry out phage display screening to identify novel therapeutic peptides
Maintain laboratory equipment, prepare reagents, and document experimental procedures
Collaborate with graduate students and researchers on interdisciplinary projects
Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI)
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
Experience with peptide synthesis, or lipid nanoparticles, or drug delivery systems is preferred
Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, or fluorescence assays is advantageous
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative research environment
