Description As a Payroll Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. You will be responsible for maintaining payroll records, computing wages, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a high level of confidentiality.Key Responsibilities:

Execute the end-to-end payroll process, including collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data accurately and timely. Ensure adherence to established payroll policies and procedures.

Input employee data such as hours worked, taxes, deductions, and garnishments into the payroll system. Validate information for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as necessary.

Assist in administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions. Ensure deductions are accurately reflected in payroll records.

Stay up to date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements. Ensure payroll processes align with legal standards and company policies.

Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, including employee information, timecards, tax withholdings, and other relevant documentation. Prepare reports as needed for auditing and reporting purposes.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and taxes in a timely and professional manner. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address payroll-related concerns and resolve discrepancies.

Generate payroll reports and distribute to appropriate stakeholders. Prepare payroll-related reports for management, auditors, and government agencies as required.

Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner. Collaborate with relevant departments to identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent future errors.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Previous experience in payroll processing or related field preferred.

Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

High degree of professionalism and commitment to customer service.
