Description: Advanced Systems & Analysis EngineerMember of the Advanced Systems & Analysis department, responsible for research, development, testing, analysis, and deployed support of new, innovative, systems and technologies. Initial assignment will primarily be to provide support to the Trident Submarine Navigation program.Specific duties include:- Design and analyze complex inertial, geophysical, and sonar based high performance navigation systems.- Develop, implement, and verify the next generation of enhancements for the Trident navigation system employing a scaled agile process and model-based methodologies.- Support system test and deployment of navigation system updates, analyze test results, conduct accuracy and performance analyses, and document and present results.- Analyze deployed system performance, investigate operational issues, propose and develop solutions to mitigate concerns, and document findings and recommendations.- Conduct a variety of tasks requiring a skill set associated with a background in, signal and data analysis, aerospace or terrestrial GN&C (guidance, navigation and control) design, system engineering analysis, software development, and test.Basic Qualifications:- Candidate must possess an active Secret Clearance prior to start.- Proficient and skilled at using MATLAB- Knowledge of basic time domain and frequency domain data analysis techniques- Knowledge of probability & statistics, familiar with stochastic processes- Experience coding in a high-level programming language- Knowledge of system and component specifications, understanding of requirement flow-down, allocation, verification, and validation processes- Familiar with AI/ML concepts, techniques, and applications to characterization and predictive analysis- Familiar with general concepts of navigation, sonar, and inertial measurement systems- Familiarity with M.S. Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and collaborative tools (MS Teams, etc.)- Familiarity with LinuxDesired Skills:- Deep expertise using MATLAB and working with multiple MATLAB toolboxes- Experience with inertial/geophysical navigation system and/or sonar system error modeling and simulation (aided/unaided)- Familiarity with GPS- Knowledge of optimal estimation and control theory including Kalman filtering and smoothing- Knowledge of systems optimization, data analysis, and risk management- Experience with suboptimal covariance simulation and analysis- Knowledge of and experience employing AI/ML concepts and techniques to data analysis- Experience with agile development methodologies and tools (Confluence, Jira, etc.)- Experience using Mathematica and/or Scientific Python- Experience programming in Java, Python and/or C/C- Familiarity with Linux shell scripting and/or MongoDB- High proficiency with technical writing and documentation- Experience with agile development methodologies- Top Secret clearance (current or held within the last 5 years)- M.S. or equivalent advanced degree in directly applicable technical discipline- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with both local and geographically distributed teammates including subcontractors, technical agents, and customers- Excellent demonstrated interpersonal and time management skillsets- Ability for occasional travelSecurity Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.Clearance Level: Top SecretOther Important Information You Should KnowExpression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
