National Fuel is currently seeking a Compressor Operator for an outstanding career opportunity in our Operations department at our Roystone Field located in Sheffield, PA. As a member of the National Fuel team, you will enjoy an exciting and challenging work environment where top performance is recognized and rewarded.
Typical work schedule for this position is Wednesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and could include some overtime, as well as occasional shift changes. This position will require flexibility to occasionally report to other nearby field locations. Applicants must live within a reasonable commute of the Roystone Field Office located at 1878 Route 6, Sheffield, PA 16347 or be willing to relocate.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Compressor Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining gas compressor units, gas processing equipment, accessories, and auxiliary equipment without direct supervision. Makes necessary changes in gas line operations. Document and maintain all necessary operating/maintenance and repair records and submit reports. In addition, the compressor operator will also be responsible for:
Keeping machinery, equipment, building, walkways and surroundings clean
Making minor repairs and adjustments to machines and accessories
Assisting with major repairs or overhauls to machinery
Reporting all unusual circumstances to supervisor immediately
Performing other varied gas field activities including installation, repairs and maintenance of gas well equipment and pipeline systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
The physical capability to work outdoors in all types of weather and the ability to work in and around hazards and difficult to reach areas is also required
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Excellent customer service/communication skills
Basic computer skills and literacy is required. Ability to read, legibly prepare written documentation and have the ability to accurately interpret and analyze written information
Equivalent work experience, mechanic experience, engine repair or troubleshooting, and installation/repair of pneumatic and electrical equipment is preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of compressors, pumps, gauges, pneumatics, and hydraulics

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This is a position within the Company’s collective bargaining unit with an hourly rate of pay of $29.53, 6-month rate $31.16, 1-year rate $32.16, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
