Description Our client is a leading company with a diverse portfolio of properties across the United States. We are committed to excellence in all aspects of our business and are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Indirect Tax Director to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in managing our property tax, sales tax, and use tax compliance obligations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our tax processes.Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage property tax compliance for a portfolio of 400+properties across the United States, ensuring timely and accurate filings.

Provide expert guidance on sales and use tax matters, particularly in relation to construction activities, addressing complex tax questions and ensuring compliance with state and local tax laws.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, accounting, legal, and operations teams, to ensure alignment on tax strategies and compliance requirements.

Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, particularly those impacting property tax, sales tax, and use tax, and assess the potential impact on the company.

Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize tax efficiency and minimize tax liabilities within the boundaries of applicable laws and regulations.

Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants, leveraging their expertise as needed to address complex tax issues and ensure compliance.

Support tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, preparing documentation and responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on tax matters, ensuring awareness and understanding of relevant tax issues and requirements.

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.

10-15+ years of experience in sales tax, with a focus on multistate tax issues, gained in either a large industry or Big 4 Public Accounting firm.

Strong expertise in property tax compliance and management, with experience handling a high volume of properties across diverse jurisdictions.

Demonstrated experience with sales and use tax matters related to construction activities, including a deep understanding of what is taxable in construction projects.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them effectively to business operations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, delivering results with accuracy and efficiency.

CPA or advanced degree in taxation preferred, but not required.
