We are looking for a weekday mentor/staff support for a 29 year old man with Downs and Autism. He is a happy, easy going guy who takes directions well and is a pleasure to work with. He is mostly nonverbal but understands well and can communicate his needs in a variety of ways. He is very social and loves being with people.
We are looking for a full-time person for weekday afternoons. Times are flexible (30-35 hours). Employment is through Independent Support Services. They handle the hiring process, background check, payroll etc. Direct management is from family- we are easy going too. Experience with special needs a plus but we will train the right person.
Responsibilities include: taking him out for activities in the community and personal care (including assistance with bathing and toileting etc.), and transportation.
Must be patient and dependable. Must have reliable car. Mileage is reimbursed and activities paid. With benefits of holidays, personal time off. Health insurance is available if wanted.
