Mid-senior level energy/commissioning engineer with 3-7 years of experience in mechanicalengineering, energy consulting or commissioning with a passion forsustainability/decarbonization. This role will be an integral part ofour expanding energy and commissioning team in our Syracuse, NYoffice. The candidate must be able to perform energy and commissioningprojects with limited supervision of the team leader. The candidatewill also support project/team management and business development. The position will include work both in office and on construction sites.

Responsibilities Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to HVACsystem design. Able to travel and conduct construction site visits independently orwith limited supervision.Able to perform observation inspections and functional performancetesting.Able to perform energy calculation/modeling or energy audits.Able to prepare complete project deliverables collaboratively.Provide design review in compliance with energy code and for qualityassurance.Support future energy code development. Assists upper level management and staff as a technical specialist.Actively supports and contributes to project management and teambuilding.Present engineering results internally and externally.Assists in business development and proposal writing.RequirementsProficiency in building MEP and energy systems.Experience in mechanical/plumbing system design or energymodeling/auditing or commissioning/retro-commissioning.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with Revit andAutoCAD is preferred.Familiar with Energy Conservation Construction Code of NYS or ASHRAE90.1 or LEED Reference.Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.Actively listens and clarifies and executes accordingly.Project management and business development skills are preferred.Experience, Education, and Certification BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Energy/Sustainability relatedfield.3-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, energy and/orcommissioning related field: mechanical and electrical engineering,energy consulting, commissioning, control system integration, orfacility operations.Licensed PE or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or LEED AccreditedProfessional is preferred.

Work Environment Interact with PDG personnel both within the department and outside.Interact with external clients and construction team.Professional office work environment.Physical Demands This job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a computer. Lifting up to 15lbs is required. Travel is required within NY State (up to 30%).
