Job Summary: The Heart and Vascular Center trainer provides unit based training and mentoring, exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision and values actinin in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.Duties Include but not limited to: Provide care for patients undergoing procedures in the departments of the HVC.Prep, Procedure and Recovery of patients as well as on-call responsibilities for this care.Oversees all aspects of orientation of new employees.On-going education and training for current staff on new procedures, equipment, and hospital wide training initiatives.Minimum Qualifications: NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.Minimum of 5 years of acute care cardiac nursing experience (preferably in a Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab).CPR-BLS and ACLS certification required by time of appointment.Must be able to handle physical aspects of patient care such as moving patients and equipment as well as participate in rotating on-call schedule.Preferred Qualifications: 5 years Procedural Cardiac Care experience in Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab.Work Days: Monday- Friday flexible days; Participation in on call duties required for off shift weekend and holiday.Message to Applicants: Recruitment Office: Human ResourcesExecutive Order:Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
