Job Summary: The Deputy Director of Perioperative Nursing functions as a member of the executive nursing leadership team with responsibility for assessing, managing, and facilitating operations of clinical, service, quality, financial management/ development, personnel management initiatives, services, and outcomes for the efficient and effective operations of the nursing department. Areas of responsibility include all OR and Perioperative Nursing. Collaborates extensively with Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, and Director of Perioperative Services. Assists the Chief Nursing Officer in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of departmental goals and objectives. Assists Chief Nursing Officer and nursing department in the pursuit of Magnet re-designation.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Nursing required. If BSN prepared, Master's degree in Nursing, Management, or Health related field required. NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN required. Minimum of 7 years progressively responsible nursing leadership experience which encompasses OR and Periop nursing leadership, medical staff relationships, quality management, human resource development and management required. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, computer, and presentation skills required. CPR-BLS required by time of appointment.Preferred Qualifications: Nursing leadership experience in an acute care environment preferred.
