Employment Type:Full timeShift:Description:Monday - Friday Days101 Union Ave.Syracuse, New YorkPOSITION SUMMARY:Collaboratively provides a wide variety of closely coordinated, interdependent, patient-centered oral health care services, dental hygiene, chairside assisting, clerical duties, and accommodative services with the clinical coordinator, dentists and other pursuant to objectives, policies and protocols of St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center and Primary Care Center. May assume unit management responsibilities of the clinical coordinator as assigned.EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:Graduate of an accredited school of dental hygiene.Licensed with current registration to practice in New York State.Minimum of one year experience as a hygienist in a general dental practice or health care agency is preferred.Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Good communication skills. Excellent technical skills. Must be able to make independent and interdependent decisions. Must be able to handle emergency situations. Good time management skills.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:Office/Clinical setting.
