Compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical products using standard physical and chemical procedures to fill written prescriptions. Reviews written prescriptions for accuracy, completeness and issuance by an authorized prescriber. Maintains records and statistics.Job Responsibility
Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of assigned Pharmacy staff.
Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Supervises clinical specialty pharmacy operations with Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) accreditation activities including medication preparation, dispensing, and supervision of pharmacy operations and personnel.
Assists in establishing, updating and maintaining the Pharmacy computer system and maintains all patient prescription charges, pharmaceutical supplies and controlled substance files.
Supervises pharmacists and technicians in compounding medications, filling written prescriptions, medication requests and daily activities.
Dispenses medications to customers and outpatients in accordance with established policy and procedure including reviewing orders for completeness, interactions, incompatibilities and other inconsistencies.
Regularly communicates with pharmacy staff concerning information obtained on medications such as warnings, drug compatibility and incompatibility or other pharmaceuticals.
Assists and supports the leadership in overseeing pharmacy quality assurance and compliance with government and agency regulations.
Provides consultation and answers inquiries from patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding drugs and their use.

Job Qualification
Bachelor of Pharmacy required.
Current License to practice as a Pharmacist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
USP 797 and 800 experience, preferred
