Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Candidate will work as a Residential Registered Nurse I. The candidate will provide oversight individuals with developmental disabilities who have a variety of other medical and psychological diagnoses. Supervises overall individual's health care needs and works with house management to implement optimal care. Assess individuals on an ongoing basis, identifying needs and provides medical follow up (work with house leadership to coordinate appointments for primary, consultant services and required tests/diagnostics). Ensures Nursing plans of service, physicians’ orders, necessary consents (MIPS/Informed Consent/upcoming procedures) and related documentation are up to date. Performs medication audits and resolves any issues found, conduct OSHA audits and obtains supplies to stock the IRA as needed. Completes, at minimum, one visit weekly to the IRA to monitor medical status of individuals and AMAP status of staff. Provides oversight to individuals when hospitalized through daily report updates, weekly visits, involvement in discharge transition and collaboration with local distributors to facilitate medical needs upon discharge. Ensures that medications and treatments are administered according to approved policies and regulations. Provides ongoing oversight and training to staff administering medications, retraining in medication administration practices as needed and delegated nursing tasks. Provides nursing component to the Interdisciplinary Team. Collaborates with clinicians, team members, families, and the medical community to provide optimal care for the individuals. Provides additional coverage for other caseloads as needed. Incident Investigation and other duties as assigned.The Candidate must be able to perform CPR compressions on a supine individual on the floor. The Nurse demonstration of CPR compressions on the floor would ensure nurse ability to perform in worst case scenario, since we use no backboards in OPWDD. Other Duties as assigned by supervisor. HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title.
