Experience in the maintenance of a park or similar facility is desirable. Duties Description Under the supervision of the Regional Maintenance Supervisor, the selected candidate will primarily support the region’s Plumber by performing semi-skilled and un-skilled labor. The selected candidate will be required to assist journey-level staff with plumbing repairs/maintenance across the Saratoga/Capital Region. Duties include but are not limited to: Replacement and repair of water, sewer, natural gas, and propane supply lines; Installation and repair of plumbing fixtures; Cutting, fitting, and threading pipe; Diagnose and repair drain lines; Assist with projects that involve excavation and confined space entry, as well as other general labor tasks. Assist in the operation and testing of potable water supplies, and wastewater treatment systems. Perform routine preventative maintenance on all assigned hand and power tools to ensure they are in good working order and in compliance with applicable codes. Performs other related duties as assigned. OPERATIONAL NEEDS: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment. Ability to work outdoors year-round Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor. Ability to communicate in writing and to read and comprehend written material. Applicants must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License. Must be able to communicate with other staff and park patrons in a professional and knowledgeable manner. Experience in the maintenance of a park or similar facility is desirable. Must be capable of safely driving up to two hours one-way using a work vehicle. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds continuously and 100 pounds occasionally in the performance of duties.
