Description We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Bookkeeper to join our team in the construction industry in Ronkonkoma NY. As a Bookkeeper, your primary role will be to manage and maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. This position presents a contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Handle Accounts Payable tasks such as vendor setup, credit applications, discrepancy resolution, and payment processing. Manage Accounts Receivable duties including customer discrepancy research, collections follow-ups, and customer payment processing. Perform bank and credit card account reconciliations. Dispatch monthly statements to customers with outstanding invoices or credits. Issue invoices to customers and process credit applications. Assist in intercompany transactions and prepare bank deposits. Contribute to the updating of financial reports for monthly and yearly closures. Keep track of various inventory pricing and quantity schedules. Enforce compliance with sales tax regulations for vendors and customers, including communicating with tax organizations to handle inquiries and updating customer exemption statuses. Assist with diverse accounting duties as needed.Requirements Proficient in Account Reconciliation processes and procedures Skilled in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experienced in performing Bank Reconciliations Strong background in Bookkeeping Proficient in Data Entry tasks Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experienced in managing Month End Close processes Skilled in handling Payroll tasks Proficiency in QuickBooks software Familiarity with NetSuite software Prior experience in a Manufacturing industry is desirable Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
