A Sr. Systems Engineer job in Rochester, NY is available through Modis. Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer related field to be considered for this position. Will provide implementation, maintenance, administration and technical support for the server and storage infrastructure, operating systems, and enterprise business applications. Also responsible for the stability, scalability and performance of the enterprise systems architecture and assists in planning, project management and mentoring less experienced System Engineers.Sr. Systems Engineer job responsibilities include:
- Plans, designs, implements, tests, documents, maintains, administers and supports enterprise server, storage and applications based on strategic design specifications.
- Monitors and analyzes server, storage and application performance and availability.
- Designs, monitors, maintains, reviews, and supports operational and security strategies for enterprise system architecture.
- Provides escalation support for the Systems Engineers.
- Ensures data security and recoverability for all supported systems including advanced enterprise technology.
- Develops and delivers upon realistic project timelines or provides project management services in collaboration with business partners to ensure on-time project delivery including direct personal involvement in complex assignments as necessary.
- Collaborates in enterprise systems architecture design and planning to meet corporate strategy.
- Provide technology vendor management for implementation, support services, and strategic design.
- Perform system maintenance during off-hours maintenance windows as necessary.
- Provides off-hours system support as part of an on-call rotation.
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Minimum Five years related experience.
- Experience with Citrix, VMWare, NetApps, SQL, Active Directory and SharePoint is required
- Experience with enterprise level anti-virus, intrusion detection, SPAM control and similar core systems control products
