Position Summary
Prepares items/materials for shipment and verifies/keeps records on outgoing shipments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Compares identifying information of outgoing shipments to verify information against packing slips, bills of lading or other records.
Prepares products or materials for shipment.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Prepares bills of lading, pack slips and maintains documentation of goods shipped.
Will operate fork truck, and/or hand-truck as needed.
Will help with other Warehousing tasks as needed.
Coordinates pick-ups and deliveries with freight companies.
Evaluate shipping needs and expedite product as needed, example: pick tickets.
Periodically, drives truck with capacity under three (3) tons to transport materials to and from company facilities, specified destinations, such as plants, offices, or industrial yards.
Qualifications
Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience
Experience in dealing with inventory management functions of ERP systems. (IQMS experience desired) as well as Microsoft Office programs
Ability to learn and display an understanding of quality, safety, and process knowledge.
Capable of working with team members as needed.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Must be self-motivated.
Education and Job Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred.
Prior experience in a warehouse environment.
Fork truck experience required.
Minimum of one-year experience in a shipping capacity required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Standing for long periods of time.
Moderate continuous lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
Physical hazards from moving equipment.
