GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB. Ensure that all incoming packages and purchase orders are promptly and accurately received then processed. Ensure that all outgoing shipments are picked accurately, appropriately packaged and promptly shipped. Follow shipping and receiving functions according to documented procedures. Perform cycle counting with accuracy and initial investigation for discrepancies. Perform work activities with continuous improvement in mind and with pride in job functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive all production and nonproduction material, route accordingly and complete system transactions
Stock material and issue material as appropriate, complete system transactions
Pick material, package and prepare shipments to customer orders
Maintain cycle count daily with support, investigating issues and adjust
Receive and deliver steel to manufacturing work centers
Work with shipping carriers, obtaining quotes, customs paperwork, and schedule pickups and/or deliveries
Maintain that the steel room and warehouse are in proper order.
Perform lean manufacturing activities as directed
Operate forklift and pallet jack as required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years receiving/shipping/expediting or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Logistics experience dealing with small parcel, and LTL
Good communication skills
Good Computer skills particularly in MS Office
