Elegant, historic event venue and Wine Bar looking for a talented Cook/Chef.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Cook/ Chef to join our team. You will assist the Chefs in managing the kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. Located in the village of Fairport, The Deland House on Main is known for its beautiful decor and culinary offerings. Come join our small but mighty team and help in making our guests’ special events even more memorable!

Candidates should have flexible schedules and be available to work some weekends and nights depending on the event schedule. There is an opportunity for advancement for the right candidate, and we hope that's you!

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Chefs for recipe development and menu planning

-Assist in food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence

-Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed

-Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, and grills, knife skills, possibly baking

- Collaborate with the Chefs to ensure efficient and timely food production

- Assist in inventory control, ordering, and maintaining stock levels

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

- Assist in coordinating banquet events and catering functions

Requirements:

- ServSafe Certified or food handler

- Previous experience in food service or culinary field

- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

- Knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Some stair climbing may be required.
