Location: Rochester, NYTitle: System Support Technician II, prov. - Staff ServicesDeadline: June 27, 2024 5:00pmSalary: $44,636 - $61,158 annuallyAgency/Dept.: Sheriff's OfficeDescription of Duties This is a technical information services position responsible for leading and participating in, providing help desk support either in the office or the field, and/or the installation, configuration and maintenance of microcomputer systems. This position differs from the higher position in this series in that responsibilities do not involve administration or management of applications, operating systems and associated documentation. The employee reports directly to and works under general supervision of a senior level staff member. Does related work as required. Minimum Qualifications EITHER: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in an information technology field plus one (1) year paid full time or its part time equivalent experience in the operation, installation, customization, or troubleshooting of micro computer equipment OR, (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree plus two (2) years of experience as defined by (A) above; OR (C) Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A) above; OR (D) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), or (C) above. NOTE: Operation of a computer shall not include experience in the operation of word processing equipment, or a personal computer or any other self-contained unit.
