You’ll thrive in an environment that supports innovation, is committed to ending racism and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion, and provides the resources you need to succeed.ResponsibilitiesSpecific to Department of Neurology Primary responsibilities of this position include: Evaluating and treating inpatient adults with communication and swallowing disorders; participation as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a hospital-based rehabilitation unit and in other areas of the MMC campus; potential participation in an outpatient treatment programs for neurogenic communication disorders; evaluation and treatment of dysphagia with both video fluroscopy and FEES, potential for establishing augmentative/alternative communication systems for patients. Participating in staff/division meetings; and involvement in designated committees/special interest groups/tasks forces.QualificationsMaster of Science (MS) or Master of Art (MA) degree in Speech-Language Pathology, or Master of Speech Pathology (MSP)Specific to Department of NeurologyExperience evaluating and treating adults with neurogenic communication impairments. Experience with brain injured patients. Experience or interest in augmentative/alternative communication systems. Experience evaluating and treating patients with dysphagia . Allied Health Staff in the Division of Speech Pathology are encouraged to achieve Board Certification by the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences (BC-ANCDS) and/or awarded Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders by the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S).Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or participating in an ASHA Clinical Fellowship Year supervised by a Mayo Clinic speech-language pathologist certified by ASHALicensed by the State of Minnesota Department of Health in Speech-Language PathologyExemption StatusExemptCompensation Detail$72,612 - $108,971 / year Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.Benefits EligibleYesScheduleFull TimeHours/Pay Period80Schedule DetailsM-F 8:00-5:00Weekend Schedule6-7 weekends a yearInternational AssignmentNoSite DescriptionJust as our reputation has spread beyond our Minnesota roots, so have our locations.
