Experimental Research (70%): Carry out tasks central to integrating and testing photonic sensors in MPS. Techniques include human cell culture in MPS, and photonic sensor fabrication and testing. Experimental research duties may be further subdivided as:
Conducting chemical vapor deposition on photonic sensor chips and printing antibodies using a piezoelectric spotter (10%).
Running control assays to ensure sensors are functional (20%).
Conducting mammalian cell culture to prepare MPS (20%).
Collecting photonic sensor data from MPS (20%).
Recording and Analysis of Data (20%): Collect, record and analyze results from research experiments. Results must be organized and summarized in suitable form for presentation at laboratory meetings. Maintenance of an accurate and up to date notebook is a requirement for this position.
Reagent management (10%): interface with commercial suppliers to receive reagents into the lab. As reagents are received, prepare aliquots for storage, and maintain an inventory of all reagent stocks associated with the project.
