You make a positive difference every single day in the lives of our patients, their family members and visitors - going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect and compassion.The Acute Medical Unit (5800) specializes in the care of patients with a wide array of medical diagnoses and multi-system problems. RNs working on 5800 will have the opportunity to master their skills in caring for patients with the following acute illnesses & conditions: cardiac requiring telemetry, diabetes, kidney disease, dialysis, pulmonary issues, and patients with multiple drips, drains & catheters. RNs on 5800 will also possess strong psychosocial skills to support patients with substance abuse and/or mental illness, in addition to their medical needs.STATUS: Part TimeLOCATION: Rochester General HospitalDEPARTMENT: Acute Medical (5800)SCHEDULE: Day/Night, including weekendsATTRIBUTES:Compassionate, warm and patient focusedCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervisionExceptional documentation skills and professional behaviorAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentRESPONSIBILITIES:Patient Satisfaction. Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbalDocumentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record processEDUCATION: AS: Nursing (Required)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)PAY RANGE: $35.75 - $48.00The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
