If this description speaks to you, continue reading about the opportunity of MDS Nurse. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm position at St. John’s Home. Position Summary: The MDS Nurse has the responsibility to coordinate MDS assessments, make insurance coverage determinations, to provide education and support to staff and to monitor and manage reimbursement rates of their assigned units. Responsibilities include:
MDS completion, scheduling, HMO utilization and Medicare Coverage determination.
Completes MDS correction paperwork as needed.
Review and collect documentation for MDS.
Provide coverage within the MDS Department as needed.
Medicare and Insurance coverage management for assigned units.
Assist with scheduling of MDS assessments.
CMI management for assigned units.
Provide MDS education for assigned units as needed.
Ability to maintain MDS knowledge through AANAC training.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a state accredited School of Nursing with a license and current registration to practice in New York State as an LPN or RN.
3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
Working knowledge of ICD10 required.
AAPACN certification required.
Pay:
Commensurate with experience and Licensure type:
LPN $31-$33.00hourly
RN: $40.00-$43.00 hourly
