Position: K-12 Instructional Leader (2Full-Release Teacher Leader positions)Purpose: The K-12 Instructional Leader is a full release position. K-12 Instructional Leaders enhance student learning by supporting curriculum, instruction, and assessment across all grade levels and departments. They provide professional learning, coaching and instructional modeling while collaborating with teachers and administrators to implement and refine effective teaching strategies. By analyzing data and fostering strong relationships, they drive instructional excellence and support district goals.Essential Functions:
Supporting the implementation of District and Office of Instruction goals.
Collaborate regularly with district and building-level leadership to align goals, share feedback, and ensure cohesive implementation of initiatives.
Collaborating with individual or groups of teachers and administrators to support the implementation of curriculum, instructional strategies and assessments.
Co-planning, teaching and modeling the use of effective instructional practices that support the implementation of rigorous standards-based instruction.
Provide embedded coaching to support the implementation of Tier One instructional practices and promote continuous teacher growth.
Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, and information to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources.
Lead professional learning aligned with district goals and department needs, including planning and facilitating workshops, presentations, and training sessions.
Establishing strong relationships with teachers, administrators and other teacher leaders.
Assist teachers with the implementation of new resources, materials, and tools, including troubleshooting and offering strategies for effective integration.
Lead district initiatives and support district goals by participating in committees, projects, and events throughout the year, including those outside of the contractual day (e.g., Superintendent’s Conference Days, summer work, district committees).
Maintaining an extensive knowledge of instructional best practices, trends and future directions in the P-12 and postsecondary learning environments.
Providing support in analyzing student assessment data to make instructional decisions.
Understanding the role academic technologies play in education with respect to increasing student access, engagement and success.
Working with families, faculty and student groups, as requested, in advancing educationally related activities and objectives.
Commit to ongoing professional growth and leadership responsibilities that may extend beyond the regular school day, including participation in evening meetings, workshops, and district events as needed.
Maintaining and promoting positive lines of communication with the School/District community.
Maintain a current understanding of state and federal mandates to ensure compliance and inform best practices in curriculum and instruction.

Supervision, Evaluation and Term:
This position shall report to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction or their designee.
Performance in this position shall be evaluated annually.
Successful candidates shall be appointed to a minimum three (3) year term.
Administration reserves the right to remove an individual from this role if they do not meet expectations.
Additional Compensation for Teacher Leader Role:
Per GCTA Agreement, in additional to annual compensation, District Teacher Leaders shall receive a $4,500.00 stipend/full year of service, which also covers development and leading of professional learning opportunities during the 10-month school year.
Teacher Leaders shall receive a minimum of two (2) days of release time in the Summer to prepare for the upcoming school year. Said time must be approved in advance by the Assistant Superintendent.
Qualifications Profile:Certification: Any valid NYS Teaching Certification.Experience: Successful prior experience, with preference that candidate be tenured or have previously earned tenure in another district. Demands: Works in standard office and school building environments.
