Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assesses client employability, employment barriers, language skills, education, and transferable skills.

Assists client in the development of a household self-sufficiency plan.

Provides job counseling, employment preparation and orientation to U.S. work culture.

Provides job-related transportation and translation support as needed

Maintains an up-to-date confidential file on each client enrolled within the employment program.

Assists clients with all steps of the hiring process, application completion, interview preparation, new hire paperwork, and background.

Assists clients with the necessary steps of career training opportunities. such as enrollment education enrollment: choosing program, application, financial assistance review,

Assess clients’ availability, interests, and English level to available employment, career training programs.

Provides regular follow-up and reassessment as described in the department guidelines

Coordinates interviews, and other employer related activities with clients, job developers and employers.

Follow-up with referring case managers providing feedback, updates as needed regarding employment.

Provide referrals to clients for additional support with immigration, ESOL or other training supports.

Attends all required meetings

Prepare files for vouchering purposes as required by program funders.

Awareness of and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and Diverse

Participates in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainings

Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops.

Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and Diverse

QualificationsEducation: Bachelors’ Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field.Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Credentials: Valid and clean NYS Drivers’ License.Experience : Two years of experience in employment services field. Ability to speak a second language is preferred.
