Job Title: Accounting Specialist Job Code: 11567 Job Location: Rochester, NY Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description: Support various financial activities in the Operations Accounting department. Core responsibilities include working with various finance and non-finance functions to determine monthly program costing, warranty reserve liability and unearned revenue balance. Additionally, this role supports month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close, and internal and external audits. Essential Functions:
Prepare monthly close journal entries - balance sheet and costing of project inventory
Prepare monthly analysis for recognition of unearned revenue
Prepare quarterly analysis of warranty reserve liability
Prepare quarterly summary of percentage-of-completion and cost-plus contracts and related reserve position
Provide monthly reporting/reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Support and update internal controls of related matters to be in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
Support internal and external audit of related matters
Be an integral team player on meeting monthly close processes and deadlines
Assist with Ad Hoc request and reporting as necessary
Travel domestically less than 5% of the time
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or related with 4 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior experience or Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Oracle
Strong Excel skills
Graduate degree

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Washington State and New York State is $58,500 - $108,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
