Job DescriptionResponsibilitiesThe Tax Manager will be responsible for the income tax cycle for PepsiCo’s Quaker and Gatorade business. The expectations for this role include reviewing the forecast of the effective tax rate, review of the income tax provision, review the cross-border transfer pricing model, review of federal and state income tax compliance, research and planning, and audit defense for both federal and state income taxes. Additionally, this person will support the Director, PBNA in overseeing all other Gatorade/Propel beverage operations reporting under the PBNA business unit.Tax Forecasting Review of the forecasted effective and cash tax rates for planning and quarterly reporting. Provide financial analysis to support tax planning initiatives and projects.Tax Accounting Review ASC 740 calculation for interim and year end reporting. Verify tax accounting accuracy and maintain policies and procedures. Sarbanes Oxley compliance.Research and Planning Identify and support initiatives to deliver the lowest sustainable effective tax rate. Support projects which will reduce the current cash tax rate. Represent the Tax Department with the business units, aligning tax department resources to achieve issue resolution. Work with planning group to properly report transactions and communicate relevant tax data to facilitate planning efforts.Tax Compliance Manage and review the preparation of the federal income tax returns for the Quaker and Gatorade companies included in the consolidated PepsiCo, Inc. filing and research complex tax return issues. Manage and review the preparation of the separate state income and franchise tax returns for the Quaker and Gatorade business and the assigned PepsiCo state income tax unitary filings. Manage and review the Quaker and Gatorade provision to return calculation and the federal and state deferred studies. Prepare and review documentation and responses to federal audit requests. Manage and review Quaker and Gatorade state & local income and franchise tax audits as well as assigned unitary state audits. Management Foster an environment of trust and inclusion. Proactively lead and develop team members by creating a positive environment where they are challenged, motivated, and prepared for advancement. Build and strengthen relationships with people across the PBNA & PFNA divisions to ensure the Tax Administration Group is effectively serving our business partners. Participate in external tax professional groups and organizations. Maintain a focus on continuing to develop technical tax expertise.Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $102,800 - $172,100. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually. Minimum 5 years tax experience, 2 years of “Big 4” or equivalent experience preferred. Strong analytical skills. Ability to generate creative ideas and solutions, prioritize and deliver results. Strong level of tax technical expertise. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Self-starter with ability to manage competing projects in time-constrained environment.
