Help birthing people prepare for labor and childbirth, including providing physical and emotional support during labor and delivery.
Provide breastfeeding support andassistancewith newborn care.
Educate and inform expecting parents on birthing options and techniques.
Assistwith creating and following a postpartum plan.
Assistwith postnatal care and recovery.
Makeappropriate referralsto community resources and other professionals.
See patients in the Nuvance obstetric office for prenatal and postpartum visits.
Attend births at Nuvance hospitals as a doula
Doula Requirements and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Basic computer literacy
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Compassionate and caring attitude
Able to work effectively with clients and other professionals.
Reliable and on-time forwork
Preferred Skills
Experience as a doula (training can be completed on the job)
Knowledge of childbirth techniques, labor support techniques, and postpartum care
CPR/AED training (can be completed on the job)
