I'm planning to remove roof w/ rafters and replace with trusses and doing so myself w/ semi-skilled help. House height will increase by over 6 feet. I calculate a final 4.8 inch rise over 12 inches. I NEED SOMEONE WITH REASONABLE EXPERIENCE TO DISCUSS MY PLANS WITH. I have already purchased trusses.
Topics I'm concerned about: Demolition of existing roof/rafters, hoisting the trusses, gable end bracing and sheathing, use of flashing, soffits, brick chimney extension, properly securing the ridge. dealing with electrical drop attached to existing roof, I have one dormer I'd like to keep. specialized equipment (I think I'll need a crane) What else?
