Location: Penn Yan, NY

Earn: $55,431 - $82,800/annually

Share our commitment to helping children, youth and families build strong/life changing relationships and avoid hospitalization or placement. Bring your experience, compassion, and energy to the team and make a difference in the lives of children, youth, and families!

About Cayuga Centers

Cayuga Centers is an accredited non-profit, human services agency dedicated to family support and preservation, trauma-informed care, and serving vulnerable populations with the most unique needs. Founded in 1852 in Auburn, NY, we have a long history of delivering high-quality and innovative services to individuals, children, youth and families. We have offices in 10 cities and serve over 10,000 individuals and families annually. Join us!

At Cayuga Centers, we embrace Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB). We do this by taking a firm stance against hatred, inequality, bias, and injustice. We do this by providing our staff with the training, coaching, and resources necessary to grow and serve with cultural humility, acceptance, and understanding. We are responsive to the diverse needs of those we serve and staff, and are committed to ensuring that everyone feels respected, valued, and a sense of belonging.

About the Program and Position:

Share our belief that all have the ability to change by using a strengths-based approach to helping stabilize families involved in the child welfare/foster care system. Use your passion and commitment to helping others in order to make a difference in the lives of families.

Cayuga Centers is looking for a self-motivated and compassionate clinician, therapist, counselor to support children and families in the community and foster care settings. Using trauma informed practice you can serve as a lead to help stabilize a child’s placement. This may be in homes with parents or in the placement of a foster home. Using your therapeutic skills you will help families/caregivers identify their needs and strengths to overcome the challenges that they may face as a caretaker. Keeping families safely together is one of our top priorities. Any transition is difficult. Imagine how beneficial it is to prevent multiple placements for a child if foster care is the only option. This program provides ample opportunities to expand your application of therapeutic practice while supporting program growth within the agency and community. Are you inspired to keep families together and thrive in their environment? Do you find yourself finding strengths in the most difficult situations? We’d love for you to join our team as a clinician, therapist or counselor.

How you get to use your clinical and therapeutic skills…

Demonstrate your areas of clinical strength by implementing a variety of therapeutic interventions/modalities in your practice which heavily includes solution-focused therapy.

Modeling and teaching basic life skills to empower individuals and families to become self-sufficient.

Become a primary support in helping families to develop preventative and responsive skills to crisis.

Serve as a leader in collaborative efforts to develop an individualized service plan that will drive the provision of Resiliency services and deliver in a manner that is trauma informed and strengths-based.

Demonstrate an inclusive and accepting practice both in the office and in the field to support a diverse and accepting culture.

Schedule:

Looking for a therapist who is willing to work with the youth/families at a time that suits the youth and family needs on a flexible schedule. This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position with rotating on-call responsibilities.

Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field required.

License or Limited Permit in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling or Creative Art Therapy preferred.
