Greets everyone by using names whenever possible; extends thanks whenever appropriate; makes relationship building the number one priority at all times. The position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement sign in and out procedures, as directed by individual branches.

Greet each family, introduce self, and be responsible for following all procedures in the room, including the maintenance of ratios.

Follow all procedures of the room including but not limited to, cleaning schedule, sub-list procedures, call-in procedures and sign-in procedures.

Actively engage members in the Child Watch room.

Provide guidance to staff and volunteers working in the room.

Keep accurate, detailed records of incident reports and other necessary documentation as required

Familiar with and carries out emergency procedures, building rules and regulations.

Attend all required training and meetings.

All other duties as assigned.

Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma.

Must have a genuine interest in working with children ages 6 weeks through school-age.

Bring to this position maturity, responsibility, and a sincere interest in working with people.

Have strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.

Possess a general knowledge and understanding of the YMCA, its goals, and its mission.

Must possess or attain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 60 days of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.

Must be able to bend and stoop occasionally.

Must be able to lift 45 pounds occasionally

Salary Description$15.75 per hour
