Job Description SummaryThe EHS & Operations Support Specialist for the GE Vernova Advanced Research Center (ARC) in Niskayuna, NY is responsible for designated tasks and specific duties within the EHS department independently and as assigned to help assure compliance for ARC operations. In this role, the EHS & Operations Support Specialist will solve problems, develop & execute EHS objectives and effect short-term and long-term business goals. Additionally, this role will be responsible for supporting the operations of GE Vernova ARC through interfacing with GE Vernova ARC DT systems.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:
Maintain and report daily, weekly, monthly safety metrics
Support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits.
Provide or facilitate immediate aid for associates, visitors, vendors, or guests that need assistance.
Individual must be available to handle Facility related emergencies
Administration of Gensuite EHS Application – including the management of ARC employee access, application permissions, application assignments, site metrics, data input, etc.
Administration of GEV EHS Learning – including the management of ARC audience structure and site EHS training matrix, EHS training assignment, EHS training acknowledgement, site training calendar, site metrics, record retention, etc.
Manage ARC Training schedule - schedule and coordinate instructor led EHS training, manage 3rd party training partners –purchase orders, support access, availability of materials, scheduling , etc.
Coordinate ‘Critical to EHS’ inspections – support 3rd party EHS inspections (e.g. Lifting equipment, Electrical equipment, Survey instrument calibration, etc.).
Coordinate EHS vendors – assist with maintaining purchase orders/payment concerns, scheduling, site access, communication, etc.
Support radiation dosimetry program - purchase orders, support ARC employee access, ensure quarterly reporting, record retention, account access, etc.
EHS equipment purchasing and procurement – support order and distribution of ‘Critical to EHS’ supplies including specialty personal protective equipment, lockout tagout equipment, Dry Stock items, tools, signage, labels, etc.
Maintain ARC EHS website.
Assist with the management of ARC EHS procedures – retention, availability on the ARC EHS webpage, formatting, etc.
Assist with the management of ARC EHS forms – maintain EHS workflow forms (Training Needs Form, eDOW, eNANO, No Cost Sample, TSCA reporting, PPE vouchers), support modifications or updates, assist with the development of new workflows to simplify and organize.
Assist in the management the GE Vernova Business Project Portfolio; accountable for internal business project creation/funding and overall process flow, reconciliation of supporting documentation, and relationship building with internal and external Business partners.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field Or High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of applicable experience in a research environment
Experience/Familarity with NY State Safety & Health Code

The salary range for this position is $77,900 - $102,000 USD, annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus.
