Job Title: FedEx Business Contact Manager

Location: Maspeth, NY (Manhattan Routes)

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and organized Business Contact Manager to oversee daily FedEx operations for delivery routes based in Manhattan. The role involves managing the relationship between FedEx and the route owner, ensuring smooth dispatching of trucks, monitoring driver performance, and handling any operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact between FedEx and the route owner.

Coordinate and monitor daily truck dispatch from the Maspeth station to Manhattan routes.

Ensure drivers adhere to FedEx and company policies.

Address any issues, including delays, customer complaints, or equipment concerns.

Manage communication with FedEx DRO (Dynamic Route Optimization) systems.

Track delivery metrics and provide regular performance updates to the route owner.

Qualifications:

Experience in logistics, delivery services, or transportation management preferred.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Familiarity with FedEx DRO systems is a plus.

Ability to problem-solve and work under pressure.

Resides in or near NYC with the ability to travel to Maspeth, NY.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure all daily P&D routes are properly staffed and that trucks are in optimal condition.

- Monitor route performance to ensure sufficient revenue generation.

- Handle driver accountability, enforce company policies, and manage communication with drivers and FedEx.

- Step in to drive routes as needed to cover staffing gaps.

- Record and report timesheets for payroll processing.

- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new hires.

- Maintain and optimize delivery routes using the DRO (Dynamic Route Optimization) system.

- Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repairs for vehicles to prevent breakdowns.

- Ensure drivers are compliant with all regulatory requirements, including Hours of Service and vehicle inspections.

- Promote a culture of safety and ensure completion of all required safety training.

Requirements:

- Must be 21 years of age or older (required for insurance purposes).

- Must have a valid driver’s license.

- Willing to undergo a background check.

- Must be able to pass a drug test and DOT physical (both paid for by FedEx).

- Physically able to drive a P-1000+ sized vehicle (Large Step Van) and safely deliver packages to residential and commercial locations.

- Previous experience with FedEx is required; experience with UPS, Amazon, or other logistics providers is a plus.

- Mechanical knowledge for coordinating vehicle maintenance is strongly preferred.
