Founded in Brooklyn in 2016, King David Tacos is a woman-owned CPG / Hospitality hybrid food company, focused on making a better on-the-go breakfast. Our breakfast tacos are critically acclaimed, and we have established the breakfast taco market in New York.
We operate out of our 11,000 square foot headquarters and production facility in Prospect Heights, which includes our brick & mortar retail location, and services our Prospect Park Cart location, as well as our Wholesale / Foodservice , and Catering channels.
Our products–breakfast tacos–are straightforward but require great attention to detail. We produce all of our ingredients and menu items daily and then package our breakfast tacos for grab’n’go. We are a vertically integrated, multi-channel business.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a full-time Driver to support our daily operations. The KDT Drivers are the central to our successpicking up our product from the production facility, and delivering to our customers and servicing our retail locations. Our Drivers represent the KDT brand and are sometimes the only in-person contact our customers may have.
We are looking for someone who has exceptional customer service skills as well as a commitment to upholding the utmost product quality & safety standards, which are the pillars of KDT’s brand and operations. In addition to a clean driving record and safe driving skills, this role requires a strong knowledge of the complexities of navigating and parking throughout heavy traffic areas in New York City
The person in this role must be comfortable lifting up to 70 lbs, operating company vehicles ranging in size from SUV to Promaster (like Sprinter) vans, as well as hitching and towing trailers.
HOURS
- 5 days / week with at least 1 weekend day availability
- 5:30 am start, end times ranging between 10am and 1pm, depending on the day’s routes
- Average hours per week = 25-30 hours
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect and load product and equipment for delivery
- Assist in packing product into appropriate carriers (e.g. insulated delivery bags, coolers, insulated carriers)
- Unload equipment and products at delivery locations
- Proper placement and security of food carriers and other equipment stored in company vehicles
- Transporting and loading equipment for events, including the taco carts (loaded onto a trailer)
- Proactive problem-solving should any unexpected circumstances or impediments occur during deliveries
- Read daily dispatch emails before your shift, preparing you for the day’s deliveries and instructions.
- Be accessible by phone and remain in constant communication with the Manager on Duty for the duration of your shift (a phone is provided).
- Ensure our product is delivered safely at our all wholesale partner and catering locations at every drop
- Fulfill other needs of the business that require a vehicle, such as: product and supply pickup, errands, maintenance
- Report and manage maintenance needs for the company vehicles, as well as keep a clean and orderly delivery vehicle
- Assist Operations as needed for facility needs during downtime
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of driving/delivery experience (Catering or foodservice delivery experience a plus)
- Excellent reliability and timeliness
- Proven time-management skills
- Consistent attention to detail
- Safe, responsible and defensive driving habits and style
- Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively, and remain cool and calm under pressure
- A clean driving record
- A team mentality and a willingness to work with others to get your job done
- Effective communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with staff
- Serve as an excellent representative of our company to all customers
- A positive attitude at early hours (and all hours)
- Detailed knowledge of both Brooklyn and, Manhattan and Queens driving conditions and directions
- Able to physically perform requirements of job, including ability to safely lift up to 50-70 lbs and safely operate wheeled carts and dollies

COMPENSATION
This position is paid hourly at $24/hr + tips. Wage inclusive of tips ranges from $26-$29/hr.
