Location: Greenpoint-Brooklyn New York

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule: 9 hour shifts, half-day Fridays, no weekends

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Glass Fabrication Technician to join our team. This role requires expertise in working with glass and mirror materials, utilizing both manual and CNC machining techniques to fabricate, cut, polish, and assemble high-end glass products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC programming, machining operations, and precision glasswork. Strong attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting are essential.

Responsibilities:

Measure, cut, hand-polish, and shape glass and mirror materials for commercial and residential high-end mirrors.

Operate and program CNC machinery to fabricate custom glass pieces according to specifications.

Set up and adjust CNC machine settings for proper functionality and efficiency.

Utilize power tools and hand tools for cutting, polishing, and assembling glass components.

Assemble and finish wooden mirror frames using edge-banding.

Perform basic maintenance on CNC machines and other tools as needed.

Manage inventory of glass, tools, and other materials.

Receive glass shipments from vendors, handle and store glass safely.

Build out or introduce ideas to improve quality and efficiency in the physical workspace.

Inspect finished products for quality, precision, and adherence to design standards.

Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion while maintaining quality.

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications:

Proven experience working with glass, mirror, and CNC machining.

Proven experience working in a shop environment.

Understanding of shop safety protocols and proper use of PPE.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and accurately measure materials.

Strong attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.

Physical capability to regularly lift up to 70 lbs and handle large glass components.

Experience with CNC programming and machining operations preferred.

Woodworking skills are a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
